KARACHI: Opposition not surprised over results: PTI

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Aug 20: The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf, Sindh chapter, has stated that opposition parties were not surprised over the local government election results which were totally engineered.

PTI Sindh chief Mohammad Zubair Khan and coordinator Ashraf Khan, who were speaking at a press conference at Karachi Press Club on Saturday, termed the election farce and said if peaceful method to bring about a change through ballot was blocked it would result in worst consequences.

They alleged that election commission had failed to enforce its code of conduct by ignoring the parties in power which launched their campaign and spent millions of rupees on publicity while the code of conduct was strictly implemented in case of opposition-backed panels.

The leaders further alleged that police and Rangers failed to check rigging on the day of polling. They also questioned the attitude of presiding officers who refused to give results to the polling agents under their sign and seal, which was a clear indication of leaving pace for doctoring the results.
