RDCA trials on Wednesday

ISLAMABAD, Aug 15: Trials to select the Rawalpindi team for the PCB Inter-District Seniors Championship are to take place at the KRL Ground from Wednesday.

The announcement was made by the ad hoc committee of the Rawalpindi District Cricket Association (RDCA) on Monday.

The committee has invited players who were part of the list of 20 and those who were reserves for the 2004 tournament. Also asked to appear are players/reserves on the final list of the PCB Inter-District Under-19 tournament held this summer.

In addition, players nominated by their respective clubs will also be eligible. It includes clubs with voting rights and those having playing rights as given in the PCB Club Scrutiny, irrespective of the pendancy of ongoing appeals.

The ad committee also appointed Naushad Ali as the head of the selection committee with Javed Akhtar and Buland Iqbal as members. A team coach will be nominated and coopted later.

After the three-day trials, the selectors will shortlist players for a training camp starting from Aug 20.
