KARACHI: Man shot dead by robbers

KARACHI, Aug 13: A man was shot dead and his associate wounded when they put up resistance to the robbers in the Korangi Industrial Area on Saturday. Police said Shamsher Ali, 55, and his associate Saeed Wahid after withdrawing cash from a bank were on their way to their office when some armed robbers intercepted them.

Shamsher and Saeed resisted the bandits, who opened fire, snatched the cash and fled.

BODY FOUND: An undressed body of a woman, in her mid twenties, was found shot dead at an isolated place in Ibrahim Hyderi late Friday night.

Police said the police had been looking for a suspect in the area when they found the body in a hut surrounded by shrubs.

The body was shifted to the JPMC where her identity could not be established immediately.

Doctors were of the view that the woman had some bruises on her back. She was shot two times – in the face and the head.

Police said examination of the body suggested she was raped.

The police said that doctors sent body viscera for laboratory tests to ascertain any case of rape.
