By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Aug 8: A man allegedly involved in the US journalist’s kidnapping case was shifted from Punjab to Karachi on Monday morning. Police said that the suspect, identified as Qari Mohammad Hashim alias Arif, was arrested in Gujranwala for his alleged involvement in kidnapping and murder of US journalist, Daniel Pearl.

DSP Investigation Wing Gul Hameed Samoo said that the suspect was shifted on Monday morning to Karachi, as he was wanted in the case.

He said that police would seek the suspect’s physical remand from Anti-Terrorism Court on Tuesday.

According to the investigators, six more militants were wanted in connection with the Pearl’s murder case.

Pearl, 38, was kidnapped by a militant group in January 2002 in Karachi. The videotape of Pearl’s execution and his headless body was found later.
