KARACHI: Rescue centre to be set up in Mauripur

KARACHI, Aug 7: Sindh Home Minister Rauf Siddiqui has announced that Rescue 15 police centre would be established in Mauripur with the help of philanthropists and general public.

In this regard, Rs71,000 were contributed by the All Pakistan Lubricants Association and others for the centre, shortly after the announcement was made.

The minister on his visit to Mauripur, where he listened to their complaints, said that people had developed more confidence in police and trends had been changed. Criminals were free to roam around in the past, but, they were being arrested, he said adding that it is hard to influence police or judiciary any more.

He ordered to turn the police stations into people-friendly places so that everyone could go there to lodge his/her complain without any fear.

On the occasion, the home minister awarded cash prizes to Inspector Khan Zari, SHO Mauripur, Assistant Sub-Inspector Saeed Khan, Head-Constable Abdul Rehman, Constable Dildar Khan and Constable Ahmed Khan on their role in the arrest of notorious gangster Shakoor Langra along with his two accomplices. —PPI
