Ganguly unfazed

COLOMBO, Aug 4: India’s Saurav Ganguly, only the third batsman to complete 10,000 runs in one-day cricket, says it does not matter where he bats in the order as long as he serves his team’s interests. The stylish left-hander reached the milestone during the triangular series match against Sri Lanka at Dambulla on Wednesday, his first game since serving a four-match ban.

“I left my usual batting position of an opener for the sake of the team when I was captain,” said Ganguly, who returned to open on Wednesday in Sachin Tendulkar’s absence.—AFP
