KARACHI, Aug 2: Four ships carrying containers, chemicals and edible oil were berthed at QICT and MPT during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Tuesday. Meanwhile, three more ship with containers and diesel oil also arrived at the outer anchorage. Berth occupancy stood at 56 per cent as seven ships, Camille, San Clemente, Al-Wattiyah, Dehli, Nolowati, Bum Jo and Chemstar Seven, were busy in loading and unloading containers, chemicals and edible oil.

A cargo volume of 33,046 tons comprising 18,919 tons of import and 14,127 tons of export tonnage was handled. Sailings were brisk as Delhi, Wattiyah, San Clemente and Chemstar Seven left the port while Camille was due to depart.

Two ships, Sealand Freedom and Fotoni Lady, carrying containers and diesel oil were awaiting their berthing turn at the outer anchorage. Docomo and Kourion were expected to reach the port on Wednesday.
