Threat to boycott local polls

THATTA, July 31: The fishermen community has threatened to boycott the local body polls and launch protest campaign in Sindh if the government failed to release official notification regarding withdrawal of the contract system from sweet-water wetlands of Sindh till August 15.

This was announced at a recent press conference by representatives of the Pakistan Fisherfolk Forum at the press club here. PFF general secretary Shafi Marghar, vice-president Soomar Mallah and treasurer Gul Hassan Mallah were present on the occasion.
