LB elections: Baloch Alliance to field joint candidates

By Our Correspondent

QUETTA, July 31: National Party chief Dr Hayee Baloch has said that the four-party Baloch Alliance would field candidates against government-sponsored parties in the local council polls.

He was speaking to party workers in Kalat and Khuzdar, said a press release on Sunday.

Mr Baloch said that the executive committee of his party had decided to field candidates from the alliance’s platform to defeat ‘opportunists’.

He accused the government of trying to create differences among the ranks of the alliance.

He urged party workers to honour the decision of the executive committee and support the alliance’s candidates in the upcoming local council elections.

PLEA BARGAIN: Accountability Court Judge of Quetta, Mohammad Naeem Kakar has accepted a plea bargain of the ex-superintending engineer in the communication and works department accused of corruption.

The court on Saturday accepted the plea of former C&W official Arshad Saeed with National Accountability Bureau. He was accused of misappropriating 9.6 million rupees. Mr Arshad deposited 3.2 million rupees as first installment.
