LARKANA: Blasts damage pylons

By Our Correspondent

LARKANA, July 30: Unidentified saboteurs attempted to blow up two pylons of 500KV high power transmission line of the national transmission and distribution circuit (NTDC) on Friday night. The blasts caused damages to three pillars of two pylons near Abdullah Dakhan and Gul Mohammed Khoso villages on Larkana-Ratodero and Larkana-Qambar roads.

Police found a note allegedly left by activists of the Sindh Liberation Movement, claiming responsibility of blowing up of the pylons. The saboteurs targeted tower no.300 of the NTDC circuit-I and JD-500 circuit-II, the Hesco official told Dawn on Saturday.

The two national power circuits originated from Tarbila, the sources said. The Taluka Police registered an FIR against unknown people on complaint of lineman Badar Phulpoto.

The complainant said some unknown miscreants tried to blow up the towers by placing explosive material at the base.

Hesco line superintendent Mithal Buriro lodged an FIR of another incident at the Mahoto police station against unknown people who attempted to blow up the high power transmission line.
