Warning against deep-sea fishing

THATTA, July 29: The district administration of Thatta has taken measures to cope with any eventuality during expected heavy rains predicted by the Met office in coastal districts of Thatta, Badin and Hyderabad and has warned fishermen to avoid going into the deep-sea. It has directed employees of various departments to be present in the district headquarters.

DCO Usman Panhwar said that under the directive of the Sindh chief minister make shift arrangements for the coastal people have been arranged.

The irrigation authorities have been asked to increase strict vigilance on protective embankments.

Boats have been made ready along the major wet lands and a high alert has been declared.

The district health department was asked to arrange anti-snake venoms in the coastline.

The DCO said the entire official machinery has been mobilised to make aware the people to be ready for any eventuality.
