LONDON, July 21: Thursday’s explosions on London’s transport system were “pretty close to simultaneous” but not all of the devices went off properly, the capital’s police chief Ian Blair said. Comparing them to July 7 attacks here that left 56 dead, Blair said: “These are smaller devices, some of them have not gone off properly. We may have recovered forensic material. It may be important to our investigation.”
The attacks were “pretty close to simultaneous,” he added.
The commissioner of Metropolitan Police stressed that the blasts appeared at this stage of the investigation to be the result of “broadly conventional” weapons, with no evidence of a chemical attack.—AFP
