Savoldelli wins 17th stage of Tour de France
REVEL,(France), July 20: Italian rider Paolo Savoldelli won the 17th stage of the Tour de France over 239.5 km from Pau to Revel on Wednesday. Savoldelli, winner of this year’s Giro d’Italia, outsprinted Norwegian Kurt-Asle Arvesen to the line, with Frenchman Sebastien Hinault coming home third.
Six-times Tour winner and current race leader Lance Armstrong was safe in the bunch some 20 minutes from the line, his overall lead unchallenged.
