CAIRO, July 20: Egyptian religious hardliners and leftist groups joined forces on Wednesday for the biggest demonstration against President Hosni Mubarak in the capital this year.
With the country’s first multi-candidate presidential elections due in September, groups from the two ends of the political spectrum shouted in unison that Mubarak must go.
The demonstration brought together some 2,000 people, a clear majority of them Muslim Brothers.—Reuters
