KARACHI: Link road inaugurated

Published July 20, 2005

KARACHI, July 19: The Chairman of Karachi Port Trust Vice-Admiral Ahmad Hayat on Tuesday inaugurated the newly-constructed diversion road to connect Shaheed-i-Millat Road with the Korangi Industrial Area. The diversion road is not the part of the ongoing KPT Flyover project at Hino Chaurangi. It would mean to ease the traffic flow.

The construction cost of this one-way 750 metres long diversion road is Rs4.50 million.

The existing road coming towards Defence (Hino Chowk) from Shaheed-i-Millat Road would be blocked to speed up the piling work of the flyover. So far 255 piles out of 402 had been completed. The KPT Flyover worth Rs594 million would be completed by November 30, 2006.—APP
