KARACHI, July 19: The classes for second year intermediate students in colleges would commence on August 1, with the start of the new academic session, said the EDO Higher Education, city government, on Tuesday. The EDO, Prof Muhammad Rais Alvi, said all principals of city colleges had been advised to finalize the admission process pertaining to second year classes latest by July 31.
They have also been asked to ensure that classes of students, who had already appeared in HSC Part-I annual examinations but admitted to second year, start from August 1.
To a question about admission to first year classes, he said his department had finalized the details of admission, but any schedule in that regard would formally be announced after the results of the SSC Science group annual examinations were declared.
He said that admission forms and prospectus in regard to first year admissions would be delivered to designated bank branches before the release of results by the Board of Secondary Education, Karachi.
The BSE declared the SSC (General) annual examinations results on July 9.
The educational boards under a decision of the steering committee of the Sindh government’s education department are required to declare the SSC annual examination results latest by July 31.
In the meantime, according to a press release, the process for admissions to XII grade (intermediate second year) at the Government College of Home Economics will begin on July 25.
The college principal has asked students to collect admission forms from the college office and submit them till August 5.
The principal of the Government Degree College Zamzama has announced that admissions to Second Year classes would start on July 22. All students of the college have been informed to complete their admission formalities before July 30.
