MANDI BAHAUDDIN, July 12: The Lahore High Court has ordered on Tuesday registration of a case against Sadar SHO Muhammad Tariq, two ASIs and three constables for keeping a man under illegal detention and subjecting him to torture. The police officials allegedly picked one Farmood Ahmed from Shaheedanwali on May 31 and kept him under illegal detention. They also subjected him to torture, causing injuries to him.

Saddar police have registered a case but no arrest has so far been reported.

THEFT: Unknown thieves with the alleged connivance of a watchman, took away Wara Alam Shah exchange machinery worth Rs1.5 million on Monday night, silencing 450 phones in the area.

Reports said the thieves took away one DRS worth Rs0.2 million, seven modules worth Rs0.7 million and four MDF worth 0.6 million with the alleged connivance of PTCL watchman. — Correspondent
