KARACHI, July 12: Seven vessels carrying steel billets, crude oil and to load general cargo are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Wednesday, according to KPT sources. Berthing activity at the wharves was slow on technical grounds as only one ship, Eastern Sea to unload and load containers was berthed.

Three ships, Ilse Wuff, Mearsk Alaska, and Nur Yanbu departed on Tuesday, while Eastern Sea, Alexa, Sea Baisen, APL Jeddah, Cos Lucky and Corin Thaikos are due to sail out on Wednesday.

Cargo handling activity at the port was relatively slow as the total tonnage fell to 66,695 tons comprising 4,534 tons of export cargo including 1,140 tons of cement and 62,162 tons of import tonnage was handled.

The following ships are due on Wednesday; Kourion, with 65,269 tons of crude oil, Ever Guide, Lykes Racer, YN Sun, Hyundai Highway, with containers, Med Salvador, with steel billets and Ping Jiang to load general cargo.
