KARACHI, July 8: The decomposed body of a middle-aged man was recovered from a house in the PIB Colony early Friday morning. Police received information from neighbours of the deceased, who complained of a stench emanating from the closed house in Aminabad. The police reached and recovered the body, which was a few days old. Police said the victim was identified as Latif, a local trader.

Police, quoting area people, said the victim lived alone in the house, as the remaining family members had migrated to Canada.

Police shifted the body to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for post-mortem examination.

They said the body was trussed up and the victim was apparently strangulated to death.

KILLED: A young man was killed by his neighbour in North Nazimabad on Friday.

Police said Abdul Wahab, 30, was allegedly shot by his neighbour Umar in Bhori Goth. The victim was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police said the killing was the result of personal enmity between the two.

The suspect escaped from the spot following the incident, police added.

ACCIDENT: A factory worker died in a road accident in Quaidabad on Friday.

Police said a speeding bus (JA-2438) rammed into a he motorcycle seriously injuring Ashraf Zaidi, 45, and Shakil, 30.

Ashraf died on the way to hospital while Shakil was admitted to the JPMC for treatment.

The accident occurred at the Malir Bridge. The errant driver escaped from the spot.

WOUNDED: A young boy was wounded when a stray bullet hit him in the PECHS on Friday.

Police said Shankar, 15, was passing in front of the PECHS girl’s college when a stray bullet hit him in the head.

He was taken to the JPMC and admitted for treatment.

Hospital sources said the boy was out of danger as the bullet had not penetrated the skull.
