PSB grant on performance basis

LAHORE, July 6: The Punjab Sports Board (PSB)has decided to release the annual grant to the affiliated provincial sports associations on the basis of their performance, annual calender activities and after producing the audit reports.

The decision was taken in a meeting chaired by the sports department secretary Arshad Bhatti and attended by the officials of the five associations, including football, hockey, volleyball, handball and basketball at the Punjab Stadium on Wednesday.

The Punjab government had doubled the annual grant for the sports association in the current fiscal budget and allocated a total amount of Rs 15 million for this purpose. The department also instructed the associations to start preparations for the 2nd India-Pakistan Punjab Games scheduled to be held in Lahore in October this year.
