KARACHI: Ex-activist among three shot dead

KARACHI, June 30: A former activist of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement was gunned down by unknown motorcyclists in Gharibabad on late Thursday night. Police said the victim was identified as Raees Ahmed alias Mulla. He was an ex-councillor. The body was sent to a hospital for legal formalities.

A young man was shot dead and a girl accompanying him was kidnapped by unknown persons on main University Road late on Wednesday night.

Police said Rao Musavir, 28, was going in a rented car (AGW-902) when unknown persons intercepted his car near Chapal Sun City Bungalows on University Road and pumped bullets in his body.

Police quoting eyewitnesses said the girl who was accompanying Rao was kidnapped by the unknown persons.

SHOT DEAD: A daily wager, Hamza Ali, 40, was shot dead by bandits when he offered resistance at his house in North Karachi on Thursday.

The victim died before he could be shifted to Abbasi Hospital for treatment.
