European stocks fall

LONDON, June 27: Leading European stock markets closed lower on Monday as record high oil prices worried investors and a rise in the German Ifo business climate index failed to lift sentiment. The London FTSE 100 index dropped 0.70 per cent to finish at 5,043.50 points, the Frankfurt DAX 30 shed 0.93 per cent at 4,523.82 and the Paris CAC 40 lost 1.00 per cent at 4,157.68.—AFP
