3 hurt in levies firing on mob

By Saleem Shahid

QUETTA, June 21: Three persons were seriously injured when levies opened fire on an unruly mob in the remote township of Mashky in Awaran district of Balochistan. The mob attacked the levy station where the body of a six-year-old girl was found on Tuesday afternoon.

According to reports reaching here, the girl had been kidnapped two days ago. The kidnappers killed the girl after sexually assaulting her and threw her body on the main road of the township.

The mob set on fire many vehicles, ransacked several shops and attacked the levies men and tried to ransack their station.

The levies men opened fire to disperse the protestors.

The local administration has deployed more law-enforcement personnel in the township to avert further clashes and protest rallies.
