Jordan outwit Pakistan

LAHORE, June 20: Jordan qualified for the World Youth bridge championship by winning the 3rd Bridge Federation of Asia and Middle East Zone beating Pakistan in the final 198-125 points at the Lahore Gymkhana on Monday. Besides, Jordan and hosts Pakistan the third team was from India.

The World event will be held in Sydney, Australia in August.

It was four segments of 16 boards played between the two finalists.

Pakistan were represented by a young team with no international experience, comprising Oosman Bashir, Fauzan Ather, Haider Ali Malik, Hassan Ejaz Saeed, Shahzeb Nasir, and Zain Muhammad Khan.

Jawan Halaseh, Sakher Malkawi, Gahith Malkawi, Raed Haddadin, and Faid Sawalheh formed the Jordanian team.
