LAHORE, June 20: Three Pakistanis and one Egyptian cruised into the semifinals of the Pakistan international squash championship at Punjab Squash Association Complex on Monday. Khayal Mohammad maintained winning streak edging out the third seed Alex Gough (Wales) in a five-game encounter 9-11, 3-11, 11-10, 11-7, 11-7 in 83 minutes.
Recovering from 2-0 down, Khayal fought magnificently to win next three games.
Top seed Shahid Zaman ousted Essam A Hafiz of Egypt who retired 11-0, 10-11, 11-10, 6-0.
Mansoor Zaman showed Stephen Galif the door 3-1 after losing the first game. He notched up win with 10-12, 11-8, 11-8, 11-6 in a 52-minute showdown.
Azlan Iskandar of Malaysia was the only foreigner who made it to last four, defeating Farrukh Zaman in straight games 11-10, 11-4, 11-8.
Mansoor Zaman faces Iskandar in the first semifinals and Khalid Mohammad clashes with top seed Shahid Zaman on Tuesday.
