PCB urged to extend ban period

ISLAMABAD, June 20: Islamabad Cricket Association (ICA) on Monday demanded of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to enhance period of ban from one to three-to-five years on Rawalpindi Cricket Association (RCA) official Masood Anwar and RCA over-age player Ali Sarfraz. The ICA demand was conveyed to PCB Director (Cricket Operations) Salim Altaf in a meeting held at Qadhafi Stadium.

Representatives of Islamabad and Rawalpindi attended the meeting which lasted for two hours.

RCA official Masood admitted in the meeting that Ali Sarfraz concealed the fact that he had already done his matriculation in 2001.

Islamabad also raised technical-legal objection that there is no provision of appeal in any PCB playing conditions since the matter was finally decided by PCB Chairman Shaharyar M Khan and the PCB imposed ban on Masood Anwar and Ali Sarfraz.—APP
