KARACHI: Two die in accidents

KARACHI, June 20: Two persons died and two children were wounded in separate road accidents on Monday. A man died and his two children were wounded in an accident on Stadium Road on Monday. Police said that Muhammad Ismail Shah, 40, moazzan of Al Noor Masjid, KDA Scheme No.1 was on his motorcycle when a speeding minibus of P-1 route knocked him down in front of Aga Khan Hospital. The bus driver escaped following the accident.

The victim was taken to Liaquat National Hospital where he was pronounced dead. His two children Yahya, 5, and Yousuf, 10 were provided treatment.

In Lyari, a young man died while crossing a road on Monday.

Police said that a pedestrian, Wahid, 20, was crossing Mirza Adam Khan Road when he was hit by a speeding vehicle. His body was taken to hospital for autopsy.

SUICIDE: A housewife committed suicide in New Karachi on Monday.

Police said that Asma Jabeen, 28, hanged herself from the ceiling fan in her house in Sector 5-G of New Karachi. Police shifted her body to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for postmortem examination.

Quoting the family sources, police said that the victim was suffering from mental illness which might have drove her to take her own life.

DIES: A young girl was found dead along the boundary wall of Mansoora Ground in Block 10 of F.B Area on Monday.

Her body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital from where it was sent to the Edhi morgue for identification. Police said that she appeared from a good background.

DACOITY: Six jewellery shops were robbed by armed suspects in Orangi Town early on Monday morning.

Police said that armed suspects came in a truck, tied up three watchmen and barged into six shops located in Gharibnawaz Market, located in Mominabad police limits.

It is estimated that they took away gold ornaments worth over Rs0.8 million. An FIR 153/05 has been lodged at the Mominabad police station.
