KARACHI, June 12: A competition of paintings and sculptures on the theme of “enlightened moderation” was held at the Karachi Building Control Authority’s Officer’s Club House here on Saturday. The competition attracted 175 paintings, sculptures and other artworks.

The panel of judges was headed by Hameed A. Haroon and included Principal of the Karachi School of Arts Rabia Zuberi, Riffat Alvi, Nazli Majeed and Abdullah Feroz.

Names of the winners will be announced next week. A cash award of Rs100,000 will be given for the first position; Rs25,000 each for the second and third positions and Rs10,000 each for the fourth and fifth positions.

Besides, Rs5,000 each will be given to the first three winners in the category of artworks by special children. – Agencies
