KARACHI, June 8: Three ships carrying jute, crude oil and to load molasses are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Thursday, according to KPT sources. Berthing activity at the wharves was active where six vessels, Maersk Alaska, Asian Trader, Tai He, APL Cario to unload and load containers, Joviality, to offload coal and Dina Queen to unload and load general cargo were berthed.

Sailing on the other hand was modest as only one vessel, Thor Capitan departed, while Swat, Kota Teraju, Cheng Yong Men, Dellian, Asian Trader, Kota Wangsa and Orient Prosperity are due to sail out on Thursday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was on the higher side where a total tonnage of 0.104m tons comprising 13,959 tons of export cargo including 2,817 tons of rice and 89,839 tons of import tonnage, which also included 65,086 tons of dry tonnage was handled.

The following ships are due on Thursday: Lalazar, with 65,000 tons of crude oil, Lady Yasmine, to load 8,500 tons of molasses and Taraman Bibi, with 10,569 tons of raw jute for the local industry.
