Three US soldiers killed in Iraq attacks BAGHDAD, June 8 (APP/AFP) - Three US soldiers were killed in Iraq in two separate attacks late Tuesday north of Baghdad, the US military said on Wednesday. Two soldiers were killed Tuesday in "an indirect fire attack," on their base in Tikrit, said one statement without elaborating. North Korea nuclear talks may resume in weeks WASHINGTON, June 7 (Reuters) - China predicted that negotiations with North Korea would resume in Beijing within weeks. One-armed climber conquers Everest on second try SYDNEY, June 8 (AFP) - A one-armed Australian climber, Paul Hockey, reached the peak of Mount Everest on his second try, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) reported Wednesday. Second defecting Chinese official backs claims of 1,000 spies in Australia SYDNEY, June 8 (AFP) - A second Chinese official backed statements made by another asylum-seeking diplomat that Beijing has hundreds of spies in Australia. Chinese business people and students as well as embassy and consulate officials are engaged in espionage in Australia, a former Chinese security official, Hao Feng Jun, said in a television interview late Tuesday.
