KARACHI, June 7: The city government on Tuesday reintroduced charged parking system at 16 covered areas of the city. According to the CDGK’s finance department’s district officer, Rehan Khan, the charged parking has been resumed on the demand and request of general public and it is aimed at facilitating the vehicle owners.

However, the charged parking system at this time has been restored at 16 parking sites which are available within boundary walls or covered areas, he added.

Except for the CDGK’s Faizee Rahameen (Model parking) where only cars would be allowed to park from 9am to 6pm, Rs20 will be charged, whereas at the remaining 15 sites, a car and a motorcycle owner will be charged Rs10 and Rs5, respectively.

The 15 sites where charged parking system has been reintroduced and where parking timings vary from each other are as follows:

Hyderi Market (from 10am to 10pm), Hill Park (from 11am to 12 midnight), Safari Park (from 9am to 8pm), CDGK’s Sports Complex ground (from 9am to 9am); Zoological Gardens (from 9am to 7pm); Clifton Aquarium (from 5pm to 12 midnight), Jehangir Kothari Parade, Clifton (from 11am to 12 midnight), Glass Towers- covered nullah (from 8am to 5pm), Clifton Court (from 9am to 8pm), Sassi Arcade, Clifton (from 9am to 11pm), Paradise Centre, Clifton (from 9am to 6pm), Clifton Centre (from 9am to 6pm), Civic Centre (from 9am to 5pm), Sindbad, Gulshan-i-Iqbal (from 5pm to 11pm) and Bagh-i-Jinnah (9am to 9pm).
