Hailing 1,200 arrests in it week-old security sweep of the capital, the government said it was expanding the operation, while US forces announced the discovery of a vast well-equipped insurgent underground bunker in western Iraq. "There are possibly more than 500 cases being prepared against Saddam Hussein, but there is no reason to waste time in dealing with them all," government spokesman Leith Kubba told reporters. "We are completely confident that the 12 fully documented charges that have been brought against him are more than sufficient to ensure he receives the maximum sentence." Saddam, whose regime was toppled in April 2003 and is now in US custody in Iraq awaiting trial, could face the death penalty if found guilty. Uzbek refugees move further into Kyrgyzstan BISHKEK, June 5 (AFP) - About 500 Uzbek refugees who sought shelter in neigbouring Kyrgyzstan after fleeing violence in the border town of Andijan last month have moved to a tent village deeper inside the country, local authorities said Sunday. They left their camp of 10 tents in the village of Barraj, close to the frontier, on Saturday for a temporary settlement of 20 tents at Sassyk-Bazar in the Jalal Abad region several kilometres (miles) from the border. Doctors will keep him in Intensive Care Unit for one more day. All visitors are stopped from seeing him. Zardari will be in the hospital for another few days. Doctors have advised him total rest for the coming weeks and to avoid stressful situations. Earlier, the family was planning to take Zardari to London for the angioplasty. However, since he was in a critical condition, doctors advised immediate operation. Pakistan dismisses New Zealand in Sultan Azlan Shah Cup KUALA LUMPUR, June 5 (AFP) - Pakistan defeated New Zealand 4-2 to secure third place in the 14th Sultan Azlan Shah Cup here on Sunday. It was scant consolation for the Pakistanis, who threw away their chance of reaching the final when they were beaten 1-0 by hosts Malaysia in league play on Friday. Pakistan had been the most impressive side in the seven-team event but their shock loss on Friday relegated them to the third/fourth-place play-off and allowed South Korea to sneak into the final against defending champions Australia. Rehan Butt and Adnan Zakir put Pakistan 2-0 ahead after only 19 minutes but New Zealand fought back with a penalty stroke from Dean Couzins and a short corner from Richard Petherick. Pakistan lifted a gear in the second half with goals from Mudassar Ali Khan and Butt sealing victory. The train, enroute to Bilbao from the eastern town of Durango, hit a buffer as it entered the station. India major transit point for human trafficking: US ISLAMABAD, June 5 (APP): The US state department asserted that India was on its watch list as it had not made significant efforts to address the issue of human trafficking. India is a source, transit and destination country for women, men and children trafficked for sexual and labour exploitation, the report said, VoA reported. Death toll rises to 204 from China's torrential rains, floods BEIJING, June 5 (AFP) - The death toll from torrential rains and the start of annual summer flooding in China rose to 204, with 79 others missing, state media reported Sunday, citing government figures. "Based on the Ministry of Civil Affairs' preliminary statistics, due to flooding from 16 provinces, cities and autonomous regions, 17.06 million people were affected, 204 died and 79 are missing," the Xinhua news agency said.
