KARACHI, June 1: The present government is taking steps for the rehabilitation of disabled persons so they could be made productive members of society. This was stated by Sindh Education Minister Dr Hamida Khuhro at a ceremony held to distribute certificates among interns, and a pilot research project initiated by British Council for job placements for people with learning difficulties.

She pointed out that job quota for the disabled in public sector organizations had been enhanced to two per cent.

She lauded the pilot project taken up by the British Counci. She requested the Council to also assist in devising an education curriculum for the disabled.
