"At approximately 5:50 a.m. during a normal headcount, U.S. forces discovered that three detainees were missing," the military statement said. Two holes were discovered in the compound fence of the prison run by U.S. forces. The talks focused on bilateral relations, defence and anti-terrorism cooperation and the regional situation, Pakistani officials said. Rocca also signed a memorandum of understanding with Pakistan minister for economic affairs Hina Rabbani Khar, under which US will provide 147.6 million dollars to improve education and health services, officials said. She also met with Pakistani foreign minister Khurshid Mahmud Kasuri and MPs from both ruling and opposition parties at Pakistan's federal parliament. A spokesman of the Chinese Foreign Ministry Kong Quan told reporters at the weekly news briefing that China favours enlargement of SCO. Pakistan has applied for SCO's membership about five years back and up till now its application was pending for consideration. One gun battle left two militants and an Indian army soldier dead in the northern Kupwara district Thursday morning. Four soldiers were wounded. "The fighting is continuing and reinforcements have been sent to the area," the police spokesman said. A separate gun battle in a remote village in the southern district of Doda left two Indian soldiers dead the same day, the spokesman said. "A car driven by a suicide bomber exploded around 7:30 am next to a stationary police patrol in the Shola district, killing two policemen and a civilian," an interior ministry source said. A university lecturer Mussa Salum Abbas and three men travelling in his car died in a drive-by shooting in the capital's southern Al-Aalam district, a source said. In Qadissiah district, a member of the Islamist Dawa party, Fakhri Abd Amiri, was found dead with his throat slit, his relatives said. Meanwhile, the US military said one of its soldiers died in a road accident near Tuz, 160 kilometres north of Baghdad, on Tuesday. A spokeswoman for the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) declined to give their nationalities but the chief of police in Baghlan province said the two were from a Dutch unit based there. A Taliban spokesman claimed responsibility for the blast which they said was caused by a remote-controlled bomb.
