Closer economic ties with Syria emphasized

ISLAMABAD, May 23: Federal Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Amanullah Khan Jadoon on Monday emphasized the need for Pakistan and Syria to establish closer economic relations and harness the immense potential available in diverse fields of mutual interest. Speaking at the opening session of Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC) in Damascus, he said the process of major economic and structural reforms initiates by President Gen Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz had turned around the economy resulting in an unprecedented improvement in macro-economic fundamentals of the country.
