HYDERABAD, May 20: Five office-bearers of the Pakistan Fisherfolk Forum have been detained at the special prison in Nara for 30 days under the Maintenance of Pubic Order Ordinance 1930, prison sources confirmed on Friday. Those who detained under the MPO are Jamal Mustafa Shoro, Mohammad Mallah, Sultan Ahmed Memon, Mohammad Ali Shah and Allah Dino Mallah.

The five PFF office-bearers, who were detained, granted bail by the judicial magistrate-II here on Thursday in a sum of Rs50,000 after they were booked by the GOR police on May 16 following a protest demonstration against the auction of fishing rights by the fisheries department on May 16.

It was learnt that their application for release was delivered to the prison officials but in the meantime the prison authorities received the detention orders.
