KARACHI, May 20: Five ships, including two to load cement and naphtha, are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Saturday, according to KPT sources. Berthing activity at the wharves was active where five ships, Corin Thaikos, Orient Prosperity, APL Orchid and Harmony to unload and load containers and Marblue to offload rock phosphate, were berthed after the departure of seven.

The vessels, which departed included Asian Trader, Sagamore, APL Orchid, Y.M. Star, Iran Sattari, Gulf Dove and Botany Trust, while Chem Lily, Taisier, Harmony, Wan Hai-267 and Corin Thaikos are due to sail out on Saturday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was relatively slow owing to lesser handling of liquid tonnage. The total tonnage fell to 52,837 tons comprising 21,929 tons of export cargo, including 2,022 tons of rice and 1,473 tons of cement and 30,908 tons of import cargo.

The following ships are due on Saturday: Sea Ranger, to load 6,500 tons of cement, Lalazar and Johar, with crude oil, Rising One to load 2,000 tons of naphtha, and Venuezs, to offload general cargo and phosphate.
