Constituencies delimitation: summary sent o law ministry


ISLAMABAD, May 7: The interior ministry has sent a summary of the delimitation of the local body constituencies of the federal capital and federal area to the law ministry for consideration. The summary has been drafted to establish city district government in Islamabad.

The government has planned to hold local government elections in Islamabad (first time in the capital ‘s urban area) along with 90 other districts in the first phase of the LB polls.

Interior ministry has proposed to set up at least 40 union councils in Islamabad.

It may be mentioned that authorities have finally decided to introduce devolution of power programme in the capital also.

If all things go well, Islamabad would have its city district government by August 14, this year.
