LAHORE, May 5: The city operations police chief on Thursday set up a committee to probe into police action against journalists during a press freedom rally. SSP Aftab Cheema directed SP Usman Anwar to head the team, and after reviewing all aspects of the incident submit a report at the earliest. The journalists had been baton-charged and manhandled by the police on The Mall when they were on way to the Lahore Press Club.—Staff Reporter
