4 Al Qaeda suspects arrested
PESHAWAR, April 11: Security forces have arrested four Iraqi nationals suspected of having links with Al Qaeda militants, a local security official said on Monday. The Iraqis were rounded up on Sunday in two separate raids on private homes on the outskirts of Peshawar. However he said the detainees were not senior members of the network led by Osama bin Laden.

The suspects had identified themselves as Iraqis, he said. They were captured on a tip off from an intelligence source on the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.

One of the detainees, identified as Abdul Aziz, is a fluent speaker of the local Pashtu language. He was caught with computer discs and other documents, the official said.—AFP
