Teachers plan campaign for salary raise
RAWALPINDI, April 11: Ittehad-i-Assataza Pakistan is planning to launch a campaign for increase in teachers’ salaries in the forthcoming budget. A local representative of the teachers’ association, Zulfiqar Haider Malik, said the movement aimed at pressing the government for giving teachers an appropriate raise in salaries and other allowances commensurate with the increase in prices of all commodities. Expressing concern over price-hike, Mr Malik said it had become difficult for low-paid workers to meet their expenses with meagre salaries.
