‘Promote tolerance’

RAWALPINDI, April 10: Provincial Minister for Law and local Government Mohammad Basharat Raja has stressed upon the faithful to follow the sayings of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) to lead a successful life. He was speaking as chief guest at a Milad Committee meeting held here on Sunday. The minister said we should mould our lives according to the true teachings of Islam and avoid blindly following others.

He said Islam stood for peace, amity and brotherhood, adding that it was the responsibility of every Muslim to respect the sentiments of others by practising tolerance.

“Everyone of us should understand the true spirit of Islam and convey this message to every other citizen,” he emphasized.

Mr Raja said those who indulged in sabotage and terrorist activities in the name of religion could never be called Muslims because Islam never accepted such things.—Staff Reporter
