DERA GHAZI KHAN, April 10: District Naib Nazim Javed Iqbal Qaisrani reportedly tendered his resignation on Sunday. According to reports, of the 89 district council members over 60 had expressed their no-confidence in him in a private gathering. It was learnt that the district council members, most of them belong to the ruling PML, suspected that the Naib Nazim had links to Punjab PML-N coordinator Zulfikar Ali Khan Khosa and his son Dost Muhammad Khosa.
District Nazim Jamal Khan Leghari reportedly asked the Naib Nazim to resign from his office or face the no-confidence motion. The District Nazim told newsmen that his deputy had opted for resignation. To prove his point, he showed the resignation to reporters.
Accepting the resignation, the nazim has convened the district council on Wednesday.
When contacted, Naib Nazim Javed Iqbal Qaisrani claimed that he had not resigned. — Correspondent
