Broad summons Ganguly for slow bowling
JAMSHEDPUR, April 9: India captain Saurav Ganguly was summoned to a hearing by ICC match referee Chris Broad on Saturday for his team’s

slow over rate in the third One-day International against Pakistan, an Indian cricket official said.

Indian bowlers took almost 30 minutes more than the allotted three-and-half hours to complete their 50 overs.

Pakistan piled up 319 for nine, going on to claim a 106-run victory to narrow India’s lead in the six-match series to 2-1.

Ganguly could face a heavy fine or even suspension if found guilty, adding to the pressure on his captaincy due to his poor batting form.

In November, he was given a two-match ban for his team’s slow over-rate during a one-day defeat against Pakistan in Kolkata, but successfully appealed to the International Cricket Council (ICC).—Reuters
