New envoy to Vietnam
ISLAMABAD, April 9: The government on Saturday announced the appointment of Habibur Rahman as ambassador of Pakistan to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

Habibur Rehman was born on July 18, 1950. He holds degrees of MA and LLB.

He joined foreign service in 1975 and held various diplomatic assignments in Pakistani Missions abroad.

Habib discharged his official duties in Beijing (1979-1982, 1983-1987 and 1993-1996), in Budapest (1990-1991) and in New Delhi (1991-1993). He had also served as ambassador to Kyrgyzstan from June 1998 to March 2003 and Greece from March 2003 to December 2003.

Presently, he is serving as director-general at headquarters. — APP
