'Pakistan played pioneering role introducing China to IFALPA' BEIJING, April 9 : "China Pilot Association formally joined IFALPA Saturday at its meeting held at Capetown, USA and thanks to the efforts of the Pakistani side in this connection," said a senior official of China Civil Aviation Authority (CCAA). He told APP that China could secure the membership of the Association, after series of meetings held between China Pilot Association and the IFALPA.Pilot Feroz aftab Khan who recently retired from PIA made hectic efforts in arranging these meetings, he added. Another important figure, behind these efforts was Xu Bailing who was a crew-member of the special aircraft that took US’s envoy Hennery Kissinger from Pakistan to China in April 1971. Television reports said about 2,000 pilgrims were lining up to climb the platform for the huge group photo when the stand collapsed. The Pentagon said the cameraman was arrested and was being investigated as to whether or not he was "more than an observer" of insurgent activities, CBS News said in a statement. "We want to recognize the role that China is playing in Asia, in global affairs as a member of the U.N. Security Council, and have more regular discussions of world issues with China," State Department spokesman Richard Boucher said.
