Yemen clash kills 16 soldiers and Shi'ite rebels: SANAA, April 2, At least 16 people, mostly Yemeni soldiers, have been killed in a gun battle in Yemen, the latest in a series of clashes between government forces and Shi'ite Muslim rebels, an official said on Saturday. He told Reuters 10 soldiers and six rebel followers of slain cleric Hussein al-Houthi died late on Friday in a battle which broke out after rebels tried to attack an army camp in the northern area of Nishour. EXTRA: Pope wrote farewell letter to Polish nuns, priests: Rome April 02, Pope John Paul II wrote a farewell note to visiting olish nuns and priests before his condition deteriorated to its current state, Italian television reported Saturday. The pope wrote the note in which he said "I am happy, you be happy, too" with great difficulty, the report said. The Polish nuns and priests were visiting the pope when he wrote the note. Four killed, five injured in two bomb blasts in Afghanistan: KABUL, March 2, Four Afghans including two children were killed and five other people were injured in two separate bomb attacks in Afghanistan, an official said Saturday. A roadside bomb exploded late Friday in southern Kandahar province killing two children, said interior ministry spokesman Lutfullah Mashal.A separate explosion on Friday blew up a tractor trolley in northern provincial capital Mazar-i-Sharif, leaving two dead and five wounded, Mashal told AFP. Streisand to release new album: Los Angeles April 02, Barbra Streisand is to continue her comeback with a new album featuring songs penned and produced by Bee Gees legend Barry Gibb, her publicist said on Friday. The as-yet-untitled album will come out in September and follows a successful return to acting in which she co-starred in last year's blockbuster comedy "Meet the Fockers".
