PM refuses to cut gas prices

KARACHI, March 23: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz has refused to accept the industrialists demand seeking cut in gas price as he explained it is the demand of international oil and gas companies to keep the prices at international level. In a meeting with the delegation of industrialists led by the Chairman of the SITE Association Mr Ikhtiar Baig on Monday the Prime Minister acknowledged SITE industrial enclave providing direct jobs to over half a million persons.

A press release says that the meeting was attended by the Sindh Industries Minister Adil Siddiqui, the Prime Minister’s Advisor on Finance Dr Salman Shah and industrialists.

He said that investors were still putting their money in upgradation and improvement of manufacturing capacities. Responding to an observation of Prime Minister on deteriorating conditions of the roads in the SITE area the Sindh Industries Minister Adil Siddiqui said that plans are being taken to improve the roads.
