ISLAMABAD, March 20: A high level Turkish delegation led by the Mayor of Ankara Ibrahim Melih Gokcek called on Senate Chairman Mohammadmian Soomro here on Sunday. Welcoming the delegation, the chairman said Pakistan and Turkey were bonded in historical, cultural and social ties and the recent visit will further cement these relations.

He said the brotherly relations between the two countries were time-tested and deep-rooted. He said the people-to-people contact could be promoted through exchange of visits at all levels including businessmen, students, journalists and parliamentarians.

Mr Soomro expressed the hope that exchange of such visits will continue in future to further strengthen relations between the two countries.

The mayor of Ankara appreciated the hospitality and warm reception received in Islamabad. He said it was a moment of great pleasure that Pakistan was back on the track of socio-economic development.
