KARACHI: Rashid for talks on Balochistan issue

KARACHI, March 20: Federal Minister for Information Sheikh Rashid Ahmad said here on Sunday that the government wanted to resolve the Balochistan issue through dialogue, interaction and understanding. Speaking at a news conference, he said that “we are heading towards understanding and harmony” in the province and those who believed in slogan-mongering and harming the lives and property of others would be miserably disappointed.

“Such elements would be fully exposed,” he vowed.

Rashid said that the writ of the government would be established everywhere and nobody would be allowed to harm national assets.

Referring to the development of Balochistan, the information minister said that the government was spending an unprecedented amount of Rs130 billion on various uplift projects in Balochistan. However, some elements wanted to sabotage this development.

Replying to a question, he said that “we are in the process of dialogue and interaction with all political parties”. — PPI
